As I plan on creating a FIlm magazine, Empire will most likely be a huge influence on mie as it has a lot of similar elements and concepts as mine. My immediate thought was to have reviews similar to Empire, although a lot more in depth and not holding back from spoilers (of course, I will put a warning before any spoilers). The main problem with this is that there will be a very small window of people who have seen all the films reviewed so they will only be paying for maybe 1 or 2 reviews for them to read. To prevent this, I may offer a regular review with just a summary of the film included, then 'under the cut' there will be a more in depth one including the full plot of the film.
Total Film -
Total Film is also a very succesful magazine that will influence my own. The main image on my front cover will most likely be the star of the most popular film of the week. However, there is a problem with this as my magazine has to be regional, so I may have to just document the most popular film in the North East.
Film Comment -
Film Comment is an award-winning arts and culture magazine published by Film Society of Lincoln Centre. It includes many features I plan on using in my own magazine, which makes it a very inspirational magazine for me.
